These terms and conditions form the basis of the contract through which the Association of MBAs (AMBA, we or us) will deliver a service to you as an AMBA member (you). On becoming a member of AMBA you agree to these terms and conditions and that we will handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Statement.
When you join the Association of MBAs (AMBA) as a "member", you are subscribing to a service from AMBA. The word "member" or "membership" refers to your subscription or your status as a subscriber to the service.
AMBA is a registered charity (no. 313412) and a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (no. 921702). Registered office: 25 Hosier Lane, London, EC1A 9LQ.
AMBA is the impartial authority on postgraduate management education and is committed to raising its profile and quality standards internationally for the benefit of business schools, students and alumni and employers. AMBA established that vision in 1967 and it's as relevant today as it was over 50 years ago.
We accredit MBA programmes at member Business Schools around the world. Students and alumni of AMBA-accredited programmes may join AMBA as individual members.
Individual membership of AMBA is open to students and alumni of Business School programmes accredited by AMBA, a list of which can be found on our website.
If you are unsure of your eligibility please email firstname.lastname@example.org and include your Business School name, programme name and graduation or expected graduation date.
The benefits of being a member of AMBA are summarised on our website here. It is these benefits, plus further services that we deem of interest and relevance to our members, that constitute the service of AMBA membership.
When you click to submit your application on line, or you fax, post, telephone or email us with details of your application, you are making an offer to subscribe to AMBA which, if accepted by us, will result in a legally binding contract.
AMBA Membership is currently free of charge to eligible individuals and runs indefinitely from the date when a member has joined or applied and their application has been approved.
Members subscribed to this membership will not be subject to a renewal process whilst this type of membership is in place. Members subscribed to free membership may receive notifications from AMBA requesting and reminding them to update their member profile.
Servicing your Membership
You may make use of your AMBA membership services by browsing our website(s) and logging in to and engaging within the member area of our website(s), taking part in research, using partner benefits, attending events and reading AMBITION articles.
You will also receive email messages containing member news and information relating to the services which form part of your membership, including but not limited to:
- Welcome email(s)
- Member newsletters
- AMBITION content
- Event invitations
- Research participation invitations
AMBA considers these to be essential service communications to fulfil our obligations to you as a member of AMBA, allowing you to make use of the benefits and resources to which you have subscribed. You may, however, unsubscribe from emails at any time.
Cancellation of Membership
You may resign your membership of AMBA at any point by emailing email@example.com.
Please note that the Association of MBAs does not offer full or partial refunds on membership, and reserves the right to charge an administration fee for payments made to the Association in error by members.
AMBA expects of its members the highest standards of dignity, fairness and integrity. These values and expectations form the basis of AMBA’s code of business which individuals accept as part of membership. Members agree to the following:
- Products and services provided by the Association of MBAs must be used to assist personal development and individual member to member networking only.
- Members must refrain from the harvesting of members’ contact information for the formation of unauthorised mailing lists
- Members should avoid overt selling to other members at events or through other means such as email or telephone spamming
- The unauthorised use of the Association of MBAs logo by members is prohibited at this time
- Any information or materials provided by the Association of MBAs for restricted use by its members must not be shared with any third parties
- Member passwords and access codes to password protected areas of the Association of MBAs website are strictly for the use of the individuals to which they were issued. They may not be shared with any third party or unauthorised person
Members may be invited to events organised by AMBA or by its partners if such events are considered to be of value and benefit to members as eg educational and networking opportunities. Events may be subject to separate terms and conditions. Please check these at the time of booking.
AMBA shall not be liable for any delay or non-performance of its obligations by reason of matters beyond its control including, but not limited to, any act of terrorism, war, riot, civil commotion, compliance with any law or government order, fire, flood or storm, strikes, or any other industrial dispute, delay in transit, power failure, postal delay, or any event that cannot be reasonably planned for or avoided.
In those circumstances AMBA will recommence delivery of services as soon as is reasonably possible.
Our liability to you will not extend to any membership related benefits, goods or services provided by an external provider. We specifically exclude liability for any loss or damage suffered by you as a result of your involvement in whatever manner with an external provider.
Our liability to you in the event of publications being lost in dispatch shall be limited to replacement of the missing issues.
We may change these terms and conditions at any time upon giving you 14 days’ notice in advance. The most recent edition of these terms and conditions will be binding upon you.
Any fees displayed on AMBA website(s) are subject to change without notice.
We reserve the right to increase the price of products and services or introduce further chargeable services at any time. If this would be related to services subscribed to by existing members, members will be informed in advance.
Prize Draw and competition rules
All prize draws and competitions which are associated with our offers are subject to separate terms and conditions, as written at the time of the prize draw, competition or offer. Prize draws are not open to employees or trustees of AMBA.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by English law. You hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts notwithstanding the jurisdiction where you are based.
If any court or competent authority decides that any of the provisions of these Terms are invalid, unlawful or unenforceable to any extent, the term will, to that extent only, be severed from the remaining terms, which will continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by law.
A person who is not party to these Terms shall not have any rights under or in connection with them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede and extinguish all previous editions of the Terms and Conditions, promises, assurances, warranties, representations and understandings between them, whether written or oral, relating to its subject matter.
