As AMBA announces its ambitious new global three year strategy, two new Board members have been appointed to strengthen the business school Dean representation on the International Management Board. Prof Bodo Schlegelmilch, Dean of WU Executive Academy Vienna and Prof Saibal Chattopadhyay, Director of IIM Calcutta, will help further broaden AMBA’s international experience.
MBA programmes in Latin America still largely attract local, part-time students, but the rising number of global programmes draws more and more international students to the region. Business schools are redefining the role of their MBAs and preparing them to face the challenges of mitigating poverty through spurring economic growth and generating value and prosperity for the regions.
Employers now seek graduate hires with sector-specific specialist MBAs in a variety of fields. ‘Hard’ skills of analytical and strategic thinking are being replaced by oral and written communication, presentation, adaptability and the ability to negotiate.
At its International Conference for Deans and Directors, held in Paris from 28 – 30 April, AMBA announced a number of changes to its International Management Board (IMB).
The Association of MBA’s International Conference for Deans and Directors, which took place last week in Paris, had the highest ever attendance, attracting over 250 delegates from 127 business schools in 47 countries.
The “MBA class of 2014/2015” survey on prospective MBA students’ preferences, conducted by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) during its accredited MBA Fair in London last week, asked prospective MBA students about their main criteria for choosing an MBA programme.
