Awards & Gala Dinner 2016
Please note that bookings for this event are now closed.
The Awards & Gala Dinner is a wonderful celebration of the greatest successes of our accredited Business Schools, students and alumni. Taking place at one of London's top hotels, The Langham on 29 January, it is a key event gathering distinguished leaders representing the top Business Schools from AMBA's global network, eminent MBA alumni and journalists.
During this superb social gathering including fine dining and excellent networking opportunities, we will also present three annual awards to this year's highest achieving Business Schools, start-ups with MBA founders and MBA students:
The Independent MBA Student of the Year Award
MBA Innovation Award
MBA Entrepreneurial Venture Award
We are delighted to announce this year's renowned keynote speaker, Michael Portillo, a popular former politician and broadcaster, possibly best known today for his travel series on TV 'Great British Railway Journeys' and 'Great Continental Railway Journeys'.
His political career highlights include being responsible for briefing Margaret Thatcher before her press conferences, and the roles he held as a Cabinet Minister after 1986 - Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Secretary of State for Employment, and Secretary of State for Defence.
Michael has made a number of television programmes including 'Richard Wagner's Ring', 'Portillo in Euroland', 'Elizabeth I in the Great Britons' series, and 'Portillo Goes Wild in Spain'. His popular TV series ‘Great British Railway Journeys’ was first broadcast in January 2010. With the aid of George Bradshaw's 1863 tourist handbook, Michael explored how railways had a profound influence on the social, economic and political history of Britain. A similar series called ‘Great Continental Railway Journeys’ followed Michael's travels around Europe.
