Created in 1954 through a joint effort between the Brazilian government and Brazilian companies, with the collaboration of the Michigan State University, the São Paulo Business Administration School of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV-EAESP) was founded with the goal to train people to face the challenges arising during the period of development the country was going through.

It was a period of accelerated growth, new technologies, new international contacts and new economic powers. In this scenario, the School had Brazil's companies working to meet the growing demand for executive education and to keep up with the intense industrial development.

Since then, FGV-EAESP has been continuously investing efforts to meet the demands of the academic and business communities by creating and implementing new programmes and services in several sectors.
