EVENTS ASSISTANT 

To support the events team in executing the strategic initiatives for the events department in building AMBA’s brand globally. AMBA runs Conferences and Events across all 6 continents.

The key responsibilities are:

  • Supporting the Head of Events and Events Executive on events not limited to but including: biographies and photographs, organising travel and expenses, liaising with hosts, venues and suppliers, preparation and circulation of invitations, creating delegate information documents, creating feedback forms, inputs, collating travel details, creating rooming lists, joining instructions and liaising with delegates, collating presentations etc.
  • Liaising with marketing regarding set up for events on website and booking forms 
  • Attending AMBA events, nationally and internationally, to support the events team, liaise with delegates, and assist with registration, set up and breakdown
  • Assisting in day to day work of the events planning including answering enquiries by email and telephone, researching suppliers, maintaining events materials 
  • Updating events webpages 
  • Producing and disseminating event evaluation and satisfaction surveys, analysing data and producing reports
  • Maintaining events contacts in CRM system
  • Maintaining a variety of event databases
  • Team expenses including Head of Events monthly credit card expenses 
  • Managing 2 departmental inboxes 
  • Carrying out any other appropriate duties as and when the business requires

PR EXECUTIVE

We are looking to recruit a curious and creative PR and public affairs executive to join our award-winning communications team. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, talented and ambitious media relations professional to support with the formulation and delivery of integrated B2B and B2C PR campaigns to enhance and expand the Association of MBA’s (AMBA) reputation as a leader in the postgraduate management education sector and wider business community.

The PR and Public Affairs Executive will need to have proven experience in planning and executing PR and media strategies, preferably in the business and higher education sectors. They will work closely with the Head of Communications to formulate and implement AMBA’s global communications strategy.

The key responsibilities are:

  • Contribute to AMBA’s strategic development from a Public Relations point of view, providing support for all media activity at AMBA
  • Work closely with colleagues on the communications team to continually promote AMBA’s services and its benefits to our international market through international media campaigns, maintaining a planning calendar for all PR activity
  • Support the Head of Communications in executing high-impact public affairs campaigns supported by effective communications
  • Actively pursue PR opportunities on an ongoing basis with AMBA members, business schools, media contacts, MBA employers, existing and potential commercial partners
  • Build relationships with key journalists for print, online, TV and radio to raise awareness of AMBA in both local and international media
  • Maintain an international database of high quality, targeted media contacts
  • Edit and/or write material for policy work, press releases, press articles, blogs, social media channels etc
  • Oversee and analyse the effectiveness of PR campaigns, projects and publications
  • Support the Head of Communications to ensure AMBA remains the first port of call for key business education journalists seeking information on all matters relating to post graduate management education

 The core qualifications, skills and experience needed are:

  • Previous PR experience gained within a media house or PR agency
  • Proven experience of successfully implementing and delivering PR strategies and international media campaigns to drive customer engagement, including published articles, press releases, PR events, social media management in international markets
  • Experience of communicating vision and key consistent messages to a variety of stakeholders 
  • Practised in monitoring a competitive landscape to deliver strategic advantage
  • Proven experience of using innovation and technology to achieve PR and communications objectives
  • Experience of delivering a range of communications using all channels (print, online, social media etc); experience of adapting writing for print and for the web; experience of writing for a business audience. 
  • Knowledge of legal compliance for websites and marketing – i.e. Data Protection Act/GDRP compliance
  • Experience of media engagement, generating interest, building successful relationships with key journalists coupled with a solid network of press contacts internationally, experience in press launches, managing press coverage in print, online, and broadcasting channels
  • Knowledge of digital and social media, writing for the web, SEO, SEM and WCM
  • Proofreading / editing copy (demonstrating a high attention to detail)
