Membership and Operations Director

We are looking for a Membership and Operations Director to work closely alongside the Chief Executive and the Finance and Commercial Director, to facilitate and enable further growth for AMBA, and ensure that all operations are delivered to the highest standard. They will evolve the Membership offering, and also look to develop new paid for products and services to drive additional income growth, beyond membership subscriptions.

The Role

-To provide leadership, direction and strategic focus for the membership team driving continued membership growth aspirations, whilst overseeing, implementing and driving AMBA’s new membership proposition, rapidly building free and paid for membership services.
- To provide leadership, direction and strategic focus for AMBA’s marketing team working closely with the Head of Marketing and Chief Executive to set the overall brand, marketing and communications strategy. 
- To provide leadership direction and strategic focus to AMBA’s events, research and editorial teams ensuring that their plans and tactics are in line with the organisations strategy and will add significant value to the businesses. 

The Person

- An experienced and degree educated individual with strong operational management, membership and commercial marketing and events skills gained within a well-respected large company and commercial environment. International experience would be highly beneficial as would some experience of executive education.
- Strong leadership and management experience is essential for success in this role and strong communication and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite. Strong stakeholder management experience and the ability to build relationships is key.
- You will require strong financial and budget management experience with a proven track record of success driving forward and growing a business.

Digital Marketing Executive

The Digital Marketing Exec will work with all the AMBA departments to deliver impactful, insightful and on-brand marketing materials. This will mainly be across digital channels but may include some offline marketing collateral. Using digital experience and expertise they will create high quality marketing campaigns that will engage a number of diverse, highly discerning audiences to drive awareness of AMBA’s brand ambition to and acquire and engage with new students, members, business school stakeholders and employers.

Key Responsibilities & accountabilities

- Provide planning support and execute digital marketing campaigns to support AMBA initiatives in conjunction with different stakeholder teams predominantly in, but not limited to, natural search, paid search, paid social, email
- Closely monitor the success of the campaigns under your remit and optimise continuously
- Produce a monthly marketing report across all channels to demonstrate performance against objectives and key KPIs for all the marketing team channels. Manage the tagging and tracking within GA for all campaigns
- Be a brand custodian ensuring that all marketing collateral meets brand guidelines and that business schools implement AMBA brand identity correctly
- Write and edit copy for online and offline channels to support multiple campaigns and use design skills to produce on and offline materials and content for the online properties
- Source suppliers to provide AMBA branded merchandise and other collateral (e.g. event banners) as required
- Work with the marketing manager to take responsibility for maintaining our websites mbaworld.com with up-to-date, engaging content where appropriate
- Assist in web dev project management as and when required
- Work closely with all AMBA departments to ensure that all marketing materials meet business objectives and KPIs
- Represent AMBA and deliver presentations at AMBA events in the UK and internationally as and when appropriate

Qualifications, skills & experience

- Degree educated, marketing qualification desirable (e.g. IDM, Google Squared etc.)
- Significant hands-on experience of both SEO and paid search marketing
- Good experience of social advertising across multiple platforms with a demonstrable understanding of best practice
- Hands-on experience of using campaign measurement and analytics tools and a genuine interest in analytics. Excellent knowledge of GA is a must and a technical understanding of the platform is also essential
- A thorough understanding of tagging and tracking across all channels and how that fits in to measurement and KPI reporting Knowledge of CRM platforms and data management is ideal and experience of working with ESPs to create and send emails preferable.
- Knowledge of mailchimp, dotmailer and Microsoft Dynamics is preferable but not essential
- Experience of creating adding and updating content to a CMS, Sitecore experience is an advantage. Basic knowledge of HTML is desirable
- An interest in developing content and design is desirable, with knowledge of Adobe creative suite a definite plus

- Digital marketing practitioner with a thirst to learn new techniques and to keep up-to-date with channel innovations
- Ability to project manage campaigns from brief to implementation within budget and time and deadline constraints. Effective time management skills/multi-tasking skills to manage several and diverse campaigns at once

- Fastidious attention to detail and an eye for design detail
- Proficiency in relevant MS office packages, namely word, excel, powerpoint, in addition to packages mentioned above

Finance & Commercial Assistant

Key objective of the post: To work under the direction of the F&C Director to ensure that internal controls are adequate, appropriate and in compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and company policies. To assist in the day to day book keeping and accounting activities of the finance department and to be part of a Commercial team responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with Sponsors, Affinity partners and Employers.

Key responsibilities

- To assist the F&C Director in the Month end and Year end close, to strict deadlines;
- Liaising with Auditors at year end, helping to resolve queries on Sales, Purchase ledgers.
- Assist the F&C Director in producing a P/L (Actual & Forecast) for the Commercial Dept., monitoring its revenues and costs.
- To assist in the operation of the Sales Ledger which includes;
- Receiving requisitions and processing Sales invoices (between 30 & 50 per month)
- Posting customer receipts & ensuring Ledgers are up to date and accurate
- To assist in the the processes of the  Purchase Ledger function including;
- Receiving and processing all incoming invoices & purchase orders, expense claims and other requests for payment; obtain authorisation and ensure correct nominal codes are applied
- Preparing payment lists; paying all suppliers in accordance with agreed terms and conditions with remittance advices
- Checking and agreeing supplier statements with evidence
- Liaising with suppliers & resolving queries
- To manage and monitor the Association’s bank accounts which entails;
- Posting direct payments and receipts to the Sales and Purchase Ledgers
- Analysing credit card receipts and prepare journals for posting
To provide administrative support to the Commercial team which includes;
- Daily updating of jobs on AMBA’s Career Development Centre
- Assisting with Sponsor logistics before and during an AMBA event
- 1st review of Sponsor and Partnership draft contracts, highlighting discrepancies to the F&C Director
- Ensuring that all Sponsors have adequate insurance for AMBA’s annual flagship conference
- Drafting marketing communications (emails) for approval by Head of Commercial Relations
- Providing  any other Ad-hoc administrative and general support as required.

Qualifications, skills & experience

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word in particular), experience of Sage Line 50 ideal
- Minimum of 18 months practical accounts experience
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards

Membership Assistant

AMBA is currently recruiting for a customer-focused Membership Assistant to assist the Membership Team with vital and varied administrative support. You will play an important role in the continued global success of the Membership Team by maintaining excellent relationships with AMBA members and promoting AMBA in a professional and customer-focussed manner. You will be well organised with exceptional attention to detail, efficient, and adept at dealing with databases and financial processes.

Key responsibilities

- Membership database management – activating and ensuring membership records are kept up to date, setting up necessary reports, providing data to other departments
Running regular Membership reports and providing statistics
- Promptly answering all day-to-day telephone and email membership queries
- Handling members’ access to online resources, benefits and services
Supporting the rest of the Membership Team with ongoing system improvements and process improvements, including clean-up of historical records
- Supporting the Membership Manager with new member recruitment, e.g following up on Business School visits, and keeping track of recruitment activities
- Organising travel arrangements for team members as required
Supporting the Community and Digital Content Manager with social media scheduling, website and external content posting, analytics and reporting, content migration and keeping membership pages up to date
- General departmental administration tasks, such as purchase orders and record keeping
- Attend events in the UK and abroad as required, including evenings and overnight stays
- Any other ad hoc responsibility that is appropriate to the role and which may come up due to business requirements.

Qualifications, skills & experience

- Degree or considerable experience in an administrative role
- Experience using Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Sitecore and a CRM system would be an advantage.

Administrator

AMBA is currently recruiting for a customer-focused Administrator to support the Global Business School Accreditation Team. You will play a vital role in the continued success of the Accreditation Team by maintaining excellent relationships with AMBA’s portfolio of Business Schools, Faculty of Assessors and the International Accreditation Advisory Board (IAAB).

You will be well organised, efficient, adept at booking complex business travel, maintaining databases, carrying out financial processes including invoicing and able to manage relationships with external partners, ensuring effective and efficient interaction with Business Schools. You will also be required to represent the Accreditation Team internally where required. 

Key responsibilities

Actively maintain a schedule of activities for re-assessment visits  and new accreditations assessments, informing schools of upcoming visits / reports in line with Accreditation procedures where necessary
- Book travel arrangements and where necessary hotel accommodation for the Accreditation Team & Faculty of Assessors
- Handle financial activities such as processing orders and expenses; working with the Finance Team to ensure efficient invoicing & payment of expenses
- Issue accurate accreditation certificates to accredited schools
- Draft formal accreditation letters and other communication where appropriate
- Support the maintenance of an accurate shared list of all accredited schools and programmes
- Ensure data held on CRM, databases and websites for clients and stakeholders is up to date, liaising with the Membership Team where necessary
- Provide a first point of contact for accreditation queries, dealing with a range of enquiries via email or sent to the accreditation mailbox, using initiative and knowledge of accreditation and AMBA
- Maintain filing and office systems, including the shared drive and shared mailbox, distributing enquires to relevant Accreditation Team members
- Service meetings for the Accreditation Team as required (including invitations, agendas, meeting documentation and presentations; booking rooms and refreshments; servicing meetings co-ordinating agenda, minute taking and all preparatory and post meeting administration).

Head of Commercial Relations

The Head of Commercial Relations is responsible for building and developing relationships with corporate organisations at a senior level, in order to create a strong portfolio of business partner relationships from the higher education industry, B2C and B2B suppliers, as well as luxury brands.

This leads to the generation of new income streams to support and enhance AMBA’s ambitious projects and growth in all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilties

- Maintaining existing business relationships: leading on maintaining AMBA relationships with existing annual partners and sponsors – GMAC, ETS, The Wall Street Journal and Intercontinental Hotels.
- Developing new partnership and sponsorship opportunities: 
B2B (Business Schools) - Capitalising on the opportunity to significantly expand AMBA’s partnership and sponsorship income in potential categories including: Publishing – Books, Publishing – Course Material, Career Services, Leadership, Education Software, Marketing/Strategy/Consultancy, News Media, Networking Platforms, Promotional Items and Travel Management.
B2C (Members) - Capitalising on the opportunity to significantly expand AMBA’s partnership and sponsorship income in potential categories including: luxury goods, cars, financial services, leisure travel, etc. Leveraging AMBA’s rapid Membership growth, from 5,000 in 2014 to 20,000 in 2016, to 45,000 in 2019 – all high flyer MBAs from the world’s top 2% of Business Schools.  Build profitable relationships with both consumer brands direct and with their Advertising and Marketing Agencies.
- Developing and managing the corporate commercial strategy: responsible for the strategy, design, development and implementation of innovative new services and products to attract new corporate partnerships and sponsors.
- Developing and building strong working relationships: developing close team working relationships with the Director of Membership and Operations, Head of Events and the Business Schools Accreditation team to create attractive propositions.
